Invisible Braces
Invisalign and Spark Invisible Braces – Modern Orthodontic Treatment
Do you dream of a beautiful and healthy smile but don’t want to wear traditional braces? Invisible braces are the solution – an aesthetic, comfortable and almost invisible way to straighten your teeth. At our clinic in Prague, we offer treatment using the latest Invisalign and Spark technology, which is suitable for both adults and children.
How does Invisalign or Spark treatment work?
What are Invisalign and Spark invisible braces?
Invisalign and Spark invisible braces consist of a set of clear plastic aligners made to measure using a 3D digital scan. These aligners gently and effectively move teeth into the desired position without the use of metal wires. This makes treatment comfortable, completely aesthetic and suitable even for demanding patients.

Indications and contraindications for invisible aligner treatment
Invisible braces (aligners) offer a modern, discreet, and effective way to achieve a straight smile. While they provide numerous benefits, they are not always the ideal solution for every patient. Below is an overview of situations where aligners are appropriate, and when it may be necessary to consider an alternative orthodontic treatment or postpone the procedure.
Indications (When are invisible aligners suitable?)
1. Mild to moderate orthodontic anomalies
Ideal for correcting mildly to moderately crooked teeth, crowding, gaps between teeth or minor bite irregularities.
2. Aesthetic requirements
Patients who prefer discreet treatment and do not want visible braces.
3. Patients with good oral hygiene
Aligners allow easy cleaning of teeth, but require careful adherence to hygiene both of the aligners themselves.
4. Metal allergies
An alternative for patients with an allergy to nickel or other metals contained in braces.
5. Comfort and less irritation
The smooth plastic reduces the risk of gum and mucous membrane irritation compared to metal wires and brackets.
6. Final adjustments after braces treatment
Aligners are sometimes used for final minor corrections after removal of braces.
7. Adults and responsible teenagers
Ideal for patients who understand the need for consistent wear and care.
8. Certain oral habits (relative)
In some types of bruxism (teeth grinding), aligners can also serve as tooth protection, but this must be assessed individually.
Contraindications (When is caution needed?)
1. Severe orthodontic malocclusions
Complex cases such as severe skeletal discrepancies of the jaws, extreme overbites/underbites, severe tooth rotations or teeth with difficult eruption/unerupted teeth, where greater force and control are needed, which are better provided by fixed braces.
2. Insufficient patient cooperation
If the patient is unable or unwilling to wear aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day, treatment will not be effective.
3. Untreated periodontitis
As with fixed braces, moving teeth in inflamed bone is contraindicated.
4. Poor oral hygiene and untreated cavities
The oral cavity must be in perfect condition before starting treatment. Poor hygiene with aligners increases the risk of cavities and inflammation.
Important note: This list is general and indicative. The decision on the suitability of invisible braces (aligners) always depends on a careful individual assessment by your orthodontist based on comprehensive diagnostics. It is always crucial to inform the specialist of your complete medical history and current health condition so that he can choose the safest and most effective treatment plan.
